Veni, Vidi, Vici - "I came, I saw, I conquered" in Classical Latin
According to Plutarch, these words were reportedly said by Julius Caesar in 47 BC to his friend as a comment on his short war with Pharnaces II of Pontus in the city of Zela. This motto has been widely embraced by many sportsmen all over the world together with the famous Olympic "Citius, Altius, Fortius!".
Fencing Academy of Calgary members revere these 2 mottos because right from the beginning until present time, one of the Club's top goals is to promote and to develop fencing sport in Alberta and in Canada among wide population so that talented fencers are identified and nurtured to make Canadians proud some day. So far, the progress has been considerable, and the Club does not want to rest on one's laurels.

One member of our Club represented Canada at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. We are very proud of this achievement. We are also very delighted with the achievements of our other members who have won Gold, Silver, Bronze medals at Provincial, Western and Canadian Championships.
