Here is an exciting opportunity to participate in this adventurous Olympic sport. This course is ideal for boys and girls age 8 and up, with or without previous experience.

Students will participate in a variety of activities intended to develop their balance, co-ordination and reaction speed.

All fencing specific equipment will be provided, including protective mask, clothing, weapon, and electrical scoring equipment.

The camp will be taught by Mr. Vadim Demendeev, 27 years experience working with children, Head Coach of the Fencing Academy of Calgary, Member of Canadian Fencing Coaching Federation, USA Fencing Member Coach, Coach of Beijing Olympian, Pan American, Canadian, Western Canadian, Alberta Provincial Champions and Medalists, Former YMCA Strength and Conditioning director.

Camp will include fencing and footwork drills, physical conditioning, partner technical and tactical drills and exercises (event specific), indoor and outdoor activities and games. In the end of the each week, we will have a fun competition and pizza snack.

 

Registration: can be e-mailed or drop off as soon as possible in order to ensure an entry.
Space is limited to 15 participants.

All participants must provide their own lunches, snacks, and drinks.

  • Participants are responsible for providing their own lunches, snack and drinks.
  • All fencers must have a valid Canadian Fencing Federation membership ($5, can be paid at fencing.ab.ca)
  • Waver is available online (faofc@fencingacademy.ca).
  • Please wear clean indoor shoes and comfortable athletic clothing (no jeans).
